About the CPDN project

This is the dev project of the climateprediction.net (CPDN for short) project. The dev project is used for testing new models, simulation configurations and server updates before rolling out to the main project site.

CPDN is a research project that runs climate models on people’s home computers to help answer questions about how climate change is affecting our world, now and in the future.CPDN uses the BOINC software for distributing and managing the climate impact simulations. The computer models simulate current and future climate conditions offering insight into the changing temperature and precipitation patterns, and the likelihood of extreme weather occurrences. The data generated through this process is collected and utilized within the CPDN projects. The more models that are run, the more insight we can gather on our changing climate.
